Hey guys. How's it been?
You can all thank the 8th Pokemon movie for giving me the biggest surge of nostalgia I've felt in ages, as that's what finally got me to sign up here. Quick summary-- I first discovered the Internet in 2000 thanks to Pokemon, ahaha. I regularly posted and communicated on poke2.com (anyone else remember that site?), a total kid who was loving this new world I had found. Unfortunately for me, poke2 went down about 2 years later and I was marooned. I practically considered that site to be my second home. I began searching the 'net for anything Pokemon I could find then, and I happened to stumble across Myu-ri. Dear heavens, but I thought she was the best thing since toast. Her artwork blew me away, and I looked up to her immensely. Not only that, but I was also a huge Mewtwo fan myself (still am), so she really did hold a special place in my heart. I did become acquainted with the old ToM forums (the ezboard site) during that time when they were still quite active, yet as much as I wanted to be part of the community, I never had the guts to sign up. Sometime after that I fell into the NiGHTS fandom, and ironically, missed joining that group until far too late as well... Fast forward about 6 years later, to 2008. Poke2 is gone. The original ToM forums are dead. Myu-Ri's original sites are also long abandoned, and I can barely find any of her old artwork which I used to love. Who am I kidding? I cannot find 90% of the Pokemon sites I used to frequent back in 2001. It honestly feels as if half of my life has gone missing. I miss those good old days, and I only wish I had appreciated them more while I was living them. It really does hurt to think how I took all of that for granted. Blessings from on high, though... yesterday I decided to watch the Lucario movie for the first time. As I haven't watched a Pokemon movie since the Deoxys movie was released, and as I'm also going through a very rough self-re-discovery period again, the movie had a very severe effect on me. Almost immediately after it ended, I dove back into my laptop and tried to bring back my online childhood, so to speak. It hit me just how happy I was then, and I wanted that feeling back, whatever scraps of it I could find now. I found one. I stumbled across the old ToM forums this afternoon, was ecstatic to see that it's revival here is still alive, and decided to finally say hello to all of you. So... hi! It's been a while.
