A mewtwo's legs.

Hello, I figured since the forum is largely inactive I'd take it upon myself to create something of a topic, albiet I'm guessing it will probably die anyway but the effort is what counts right!? Right?

Anywho back to topic, I'm here to discuss the structural design of a mewtwo's nether regions... Not 'those' nether regions for your pervies out there I mean the structure of a mewtwo's legs. First of, he sports what could be classed as a digigraded leg structure, much like the kangaroo.


Would a leg structure like this grant him powerful kicking moves? Allow him to collapse a brick wall or dent a steel wall? I think there's a great deal about mewtwo's anatomy that hasn't been discussed, and on that topic, what's the purpose of those round ankle-spheres? Balance? Extra musculature storage??


A digigraded leg has a huge foot, that's certain, and it means the animal walks on the balls of it's feet, I´m certain however you all know this xD. So if mewtwo, or a mewtwo, has such powerful legs is levitation most often the preferred way of locomotion? I know some of you walk so that doesn't count!


Also, would a mewtwo have claws? Or pads for that matter? Like for gripping or to make him stealthier? I mean we all relate him to a feline in some manner xD.

And those thighs, if a digigraded leg design is based on the concept of delivering allot of power in a short span of time, then thighs like that could contain as much as twice the muscle mass of a human, imagine how a kick to the gut with that much power must feel O.o

A well aimed kick to the gut would probably result is hospitilisation or a trip to the morgue, 'nuff said.

As for the legs themselves so many people say 'oh they're kangaroo legs'. I'd say they just look like feline legs supersized and made bipedal. They resemble Mew's in a lot of ways after all.

I always think they would be powerful appendages. We never see him use them much but I'd be willing to bet he can run like the wind and has some crazy jumping skills when the occasion calls. A normal cat can naturally jump from the floor to the top of a wardrobe with no problems whatsoever, so basically just think of how far a cat the size of Mewtwo with that much muscle power could jump.

Emsiecat you just saved my misbegotten life ^^. I've been going insane with all this inactivity. And your right, he would have some crazy kicking and jumping abilities, I dont really like the fact he uses his powers for even the most basic tasks.

So, I know this is a subject on mewtwo's legs but how have you been doing? Cool been hugging you much? ^w^ sowwy. Anywho, how's everything? Since I dont see much activity, I once thought of starting an rp though, just so you know this is Mewfive, I made a new account since mewfive is no longer my character species and I didn't like it >_<. ToM lacks an account re-naming featurette! >_<.

anyway, i'd go with the kangaroo legs, much to ems' displeasement i'm afraid, we're both very stubborn in our opinions regarding him lol <<; but i have to agree they look very powerful and i'd assume he'd be able to jump high and kick hard. i don't think he has any pads or claws since they never show when he levitates, and there's nothing to indicate claws in his 2 toes. the round ball in the leg, i've always seen as something like a dewclaw, even if it's not a claw at all. just something that's just there and doesn't have any deeper meaning. mebbe they're some kinda glands? opinions anyone?

Au contrair my stubborn minded friend. I have a leetle piece of proof that Mewtwo's legs can't be kangaroo's (technically speaking anyway):

For a typical kangaroo the mere shape and length of their legs; the structure of the skeleton and the length of the tendons, not to mention the placement of their hips makes it nearly impossible for them to move each back leg individually. Hence the hopping gait we all know and love in these lil' critters.

A feline on the other hand is perfectly able to move all legs independently to one another. In Mewtwo Returns; Mewtwo is clearly seen walking and moving both legs one in front of the other, a move which if he in fact has kangaroo legs would probably send the poor guy flat on his face. Also when floating in the movies and the original manga he is often depicted with one leg differently positioned to the other. Hence my belief that he is more likely feline based than kangaroo.

Not to mention the obvious relation he has to Mew which is very obviously a feline.

bah humbug. XP i'm done arguing about this, i have my opinion, others have theirs. that's fine since no actual background or reference info from the creator of mewtwo hasn't been published to my knowledge. i guess we're all entitled to have our own way of seeing him.

I've been doing fairly well Ems. 'Cat-pounce jumps on Cool' Mwuhahahaha! Just for Emsies revenge! But any who, maybe there are some hidden glands in mewtwo's ankle spheres, adrenaline maybe? Well certainly not endorfin glands! And yes emsie, that evidence you provided is infallible to the core! A kangaroo's legs, hips and tendon length, all of it leads to the fact if mewtwo can walk without the use of levitation they cant be kangaroo legs. I don't know much about the science, but yeah, is there any part of mewtwo we don't like? xD.
