Now I know that most of you are iPod fanz, but I've personally never saw the catch behind the little white things. So I dedicate this thread to the other MP3 players that have taken over our lives.
My current friend is this little thing put out by Sony, comes in 1gig and 568megs. Everytime I pull it out somebody asks me if it's a lighter. My only complaint is that to use it you have to use the software that came with it. Otherwise it's a cute little toy.

I don't own an mp3 player but I can tell you my opinion of ipod's and that is I HATE them, in fact every time I go down town and I see some dingo showing off his ipod by waving it around I just wont some lowlife to beat the crap out of him and steal it. I have the same problem with mobile phones.

Jealous! Are you serious?
Even if I was given an ipod I would still put it in an Izod impact testing rig and see just how tough it is.
I hate this whole obsession that people have with crap electronic devices, mostly mobile phones and for some reason people think that they can't live their lives with out them. People complain about the state watching them (Big Brother) and how governments should stop collection information on them, but people are willing to give a lot more information about them selves just for the sake of having some fancy device.
Although I do admit that mp3 players have probably played a significant part in the development to make data storage devices smaller which I have taken advantage of.

lol, but the Ipod DID win all the comparison tests. XP
and cell phones are pretty handy, you have to admit. you always reach the person you want. =)

I wonder how it would fair in an impact test.
Yes, but a phone is no longer just a phone, it's a camera, mp3 player, PDA and a microwave oven and they can't do any of these things to a good standard. Now they are putting TV and video on the mobile phones. Well at least it might thin out the idiot population a bit because they would be watching TV while crossing the road and get hit by a bus or something that kills them outright so they don't burden the health service.

iPods come in black variants now. Of course I asked for a black one when no one had one. NOW EVERYONE HAS ONE!!!!
I love and hate my iPod. It's great for all of my many gigs of music and storing files. I hate it because of the overly sensitive clickwheel, lag times in loading songs, and it freezes on me more than a Windows 95 PC.
At my discretion I'm a Creative fan. Their jukeboxes are unstopable.

I don't have an iPod, but I do have an MP3 player called Creative Nomad MuVo. It holds up to 32MB of songs either in MP3 format or WMA format. I have the thing plugged into a USB port on my computer tower (I have 6 USB ports-2 on the front and 4 on the back), since I don't want to lose the data I have stored on it (and I currently don't have a AAA battery for it).

I wanted the Creative Jukebox but oh well. At least I can use iTunes. The lesser of the DRM evils
