I've been analyzing the situation of not being able to keep role plays going for very long and I've come up with a theoretical solution. From what I see, RPs are abandoned because of lack of anything to do. I understand that sometimes you work more closely with certain people than everyone in the RP(please, no rambles about Iron Curtains, this applies to everyone).
However, I think that if Game Masters keep the role players in a tight knit group as possible, give everyone something to do, and keep everyone involved, we will probably have better sucess in role plays.
That's my $.10, and take it for what it's worth.
