Chapter Three: New Friends, New Family
I teleported into a back alley hoping no one would see me appear out of thin air. No one did and I went out into the main street. I sniffed the air and could smell traces of two. It seemed like it was coming from the east. The street that I was on was running north to south though. I was going to have to find a road going east. I set out on foot since teleporting in public was out of the question.
Its nice that city blocks are so short. It took a whole half a minute to make it down the block. If we were looking around where I used to live it would have taken almost fifteen minutes to cover the mile that runs between streets. I turned onto the road and started running. We needed to find who we were looking for before something happened. Once again I sniffed the air. The scent was stronger then ever. And it seemed to be coming to my left. There was a two story house with a large porch attached to it. I could easily lose myself under the porch, even in my mewthree form. I decided to check there and found a hole that had been ripped open on the side so someone from the street couldnt see it.
I crawled under the porch and saw a tail peeking around the corner. Whoever owned that tail was sobbing. I was going to have to take it easy on her. At this point I was pretty sure that it was a she. The pitch of the sobs told me.
~Ive found her you guys. Ill see you all again in a couple of weeks,~ I told them. Then I turned my attention to the poor girl. Im not here to hurt you. I know what happened and Im here to explain. Just let me come over there and Ill tell you whatever you want to know.
I poked my head around the corner and immediately got rewarded with a fist to the eye. I pulled my head back and changed back to my mewthree form. I was going to have show her that I knew what I was talking about. I stuck my head back out and the fist was on its way. Unlike last time though the fist stopped inches from my face.
Wait, you look like I do. What happened? Why do I look like this? I went to bed as a nice human, had a dream about my missing boyfriend, and woke up like this. I mean my tail is twice as long as my body. Look at me, Im a freak.
Youre not a freak. There are a bunch of us like this. About thirty actually. Mewrei believes that it has something to do with our genetics. They are able to recode if our emotions get too extreme. This dream that you had. It was a nightmare I bet. Thats what made you turn, I guessed.
I dont care about all that, she said, all of the sudden attentive. You said Mewrei told you that you change. Has he ever spoken to you about his life as a human? Did he ever mention someone named Violet?
My jaw dropped in shock, Wait, youre the Violet. He told me about you once when he was explaining to me about how I felt bad about not being able to be with my girlfriend anymore. He loves you so much still. Hes going to love it when you come back with me in a few weeks. I cant believe that out of all the people that could have changed in this city, we were lucky enough for it to be you. I want to bring you back right now but I cant. You have to be trained. Learn to fight and learn to survive.
When can we start then? The sooner were done and you can take me to the temple, the better. I want to see Mewrei but if I must be trained then I must. I wish that I could let him know that this happened though, Violet said.
We can start it right now. And you cant tell Mewrei because we havent developed your mental abilities yet. I on the other hand am fully trained and could tell him from here for you. Take my hand and Ill teleport us to our training grounds, I said. ~Mewrei, its her. Ive got Violet here. Im going to train her then Ill bring her straight to you. Get ready for her. She still misses you as much as you miss her. If you were to ask her to become your mate the minute that she arrives she would say yes.~
I teleported us to the same place that I had been trained not so long ago. But I didnt leave her alone like Haku did for the first bit of my training. I taught her what things to eat and to avoid. I taught her how to hurt and how to heal. How best to swim and how to fly. How to make peace and how to fight. One night I even taught her how to cook over a fire with just the materials that nature gave up.
The first time she tried and her stick caught on fire and dropped the rabbit into the fire.
It did not take long for her to figure out how to live as a mewtwo. For her final exam she was to pull the location of the temple out of my head and then teleport there. She must have already been in my head though. Before I finished my sentence she was gone and I was getting told off by Mewrei for ruining the surprise reception that he had set up in the lab.
I teleported to my tower at the temple to get Violets graduation present, her Masterball, from my room and walked down to the lab. When I got there I noticed that there were pink, white and purple streamers hanging in the airlock. I wonder what this is all about. Then the doors opened and all the temple was sitting in rows and Mewrei and Violet were standing up front.
Mewrei looked and me and said, Come on man. Why doesnt she have her Masterball. Youre holding up the wedding!
Im sorry! I wasnt expecting her to take off on me before I could give out the rest of the directions for her final exam. And you said that this was a reception not a wedding reception. Sheesh. I pointed the Masterball at Violet and captured her in it then gave the ball to Mewrei. Then I flew up into the rafters and yelled down, You do the honors.
He threw the Masterball and she popped out with a confused look. Then he kept the masterball and gave her his.
When two of us tie the knot we trade our Masterballs. Its a way of saying that were so devoted to each other that we would actually give up the one thing that could be used to capture us to the one we love. Also after tonight well have a bond so strong that it can affect our personalities. We wont want to be away from each other. And if one of us were to get killed. Well, suicide would all of the sudden seem to be a very good option. It would be like someone tore out your heart and then filled the wound with salt. Do you want this? said Mewrei.
Start the wedding preacher, Violet said.
Mewreis eyes light up with joy and the preacher starts the wedding. It only took twenty minutes or so. Nothing like the catholic weddings Ive been to before. There was a reception but The Bride and The Groom werent at it. They went directly to their honeymoon and started breaking in their bed. The rest of us had fun at the reception though. It was more like a singles mixer then it was a traditional reception. I met a bunch of the lovely ladies amd I met a special someone named Ruby. But she is the subject of another time.
