I'm in the market for one. Is LimeWire Pro trustworthy?

I have it and like it. Remember you still could get slammed for copyright infringement if you aren't careful. I've been toying with the idea of a tracekill app that will prevent the authorities from being able to track you down.

i have the freebie version. no point to get pro when the big thing is the turbocharged feature when you have dial. i really like it.

LimeWire Pro also offers more advanced security features. That's the only reason I got it.

As soon as there is a C++ clone of LimeWire, I want it. Java just doesn't cut it when I have more than three programs open.

Well problem with C++ is it's platform portability. Java runs the same way on any operating system that the JRE is available for.

That's what cross platform C++ compilers are for.

I have LimeWire basic, and I use it to download and burn music to CDs. The people at the Gnutella forums (where I go to discuss anything LimeWire) have no qualms about people doing that for their own personal and private use, but they do frown on people mentioning song titles and artists in their forums (due to the possibility of authorities tracking the site). So I'd say it's perfectly legal, since the people at Gnutella forums say it is. I've gotten songs from various sources (and others have gotten songs from me), so unless someone gripes, I see no reason not to continue what I'm doing with LimeWire.

Downloading songs of any type is very illegal. So called piracy. However, your less likely to get busted downloading a song or two instead of downloading 800-900 MP3s daily.

I have a bunch of songs I've downloaded, but it's not like I sit and download hundreds a day. Yes, Gnutella is pretty strict about their anti-piracy rule, but they don't seem to mind if you download songs from LimeWire. At most, I download anywhere from 2 to 10 songs per day.

Because Gnuetella is a true peer-to-peer. It's very difficult to track. You have to be downloading songs off of a companies server for them to track you...

But whenever I use LimeWire and I need help with it, I'm always directed to the Gnutella forums associated with LimeWire. I don't get it. ?(

That's because LimeWire uses Gnutella and the two orgs are really close

Ok. I just didn't know what to think about this Gnutella and LimeWire stuff. That's all. I've only had LimeWire since March '06.

I used Limewire basic to download a pirated copy of Limewire pro. Oh the irony. XD

I paid for LimeWire Pro to use for creative commons stuff. Plus Magnet links. I use iTunes for music and buy software.
