Now it would be wrong to call Liana a coward by any means; she wasn't typically frightened by spiders, shadows and things that went bump in the night. However as she stood there looking proverbial death in the face, she decided that she liked her life thank you very much, and she wasn't willing to let her grip on it be pulled off quite so easily. Thus it was that without a second thought she threw herself quite happily into the cold sea waters and began to swim as fast as humanly possible away from the 'human hunter'. After all when push came to shove, wouldn't most humans value their lives over such paltry things as pride or logic? Liana arched her body downwards and kicked her way under the waters surface in a vain hope that if Mewtwo couldn't physically see her, he might just give up and leave her to swim away.

Maybe it was some higher beings cruel joke that decided to dash the young woman's hopes or perhaps Liana's luck had decided to run dry at this point, but unfortunately Mewtwo was not one to give up a kill just because they chose to dodge out of sight. Unfortunately Liana's little outburst complete with impromptu psychic attacks had weakened her. And unfortunately her clothes and leather boots dragged and slowed her progress. It was with these factors that meant Liana felt a damnable tugging sensation at her back and navel, almost as if someone was holding her there. Then she was hung, suspended upside down in midair, spluttering and blinking water from her eyes, feeling most undignified and like a rather helpless sort of kitten caught in a mother cats grasp.

There was Himself, smirking and holding a paw out as his telekinetic abilities held Liana in place for a second time in just five minutes. As she hung there Liana had felt all resistance melt away, why fight death? There was no point in it she'd obviously lost this round. Her tired brain processed this information and she felt a strange sense of peace at the thought, she relaxed and closed her eyes and waited for the inevitable.

Mewtwo had watched all of this with mild amusement; her foolhardy attempt to escape, her shock of being plucked out of the ocean like a fish, her disbelief, regret and slow acceptance of her position. She was a strange one that was for sure a regular little fire-cat who could fight with tooth and claw, and then be strangely humbled all in a heartbeat.

He mulled over a few thoughts in his head. On the one hand he should kill her, she was one of them, one of the hated ones and he had vowed to himself that day to destroy them all. However as ironic as it sounded in his own mind he did need a new slave of late. The last had 'served his purpose' so to speak and had met a rather impressive end from a great height on the rocky landscape that surrounded his fortress. After all the clones were becoming restless, they wanted to move on from such an isolated spot and return to the human free world that Mewtwo had promised them. They could be a problem at times.

That decided it. The kit would become his servant and once the clones were settled and the castle in a decent order, he would dispose of her as he had the last.

~Your name~ he snapped at her with a tone that suggested he was used to being obeyed. The girl opened her eyes and stared blankly at him from her awkward position in midair. ~Are you deaf or just plain stupid? I asked for your name, girl!~

Her mouth opened and shut rather like a Magikarp out of water, and then a small croak emerged before she cleared her throat and tried once more. "Valaisu, my house is Valaisu, first name Liana." She fairly squeaked out.
~Valaisu, I assume you know who I am?~ it was a rhetorical question, merely meant to re-enforce who he was in her mind. Liana nodded as best she could whilst still suspended upside down, her face had gone somewhat red from the blood rush by now. Noticing this he righted her and set her down none too gently in the boat once more.

Liana peeked up at him from behind her curls which were still dripping with sea water. He hasn't killed me yet, why hasn't he killed me? She wondered incredulously. There were rumours of course, of a few that had been spared death only to become servants and then killed later. Personally she would prefer to get it over and done with.

~Since you know who I am.~ he continued as if he had all the time in the world, like time would stop for him and only him and so he needn't hurry himself when speaking. The suspense was somewhat electrifying on the nerves for Liana. ~You will know that your kind disgusts me. However,~ he went on as slow and rhythmic as a drum beat. ~I could do with a little assistance.~ He left it at that and turned away with another smirk on his face. It occurred to Liana that this was a favoured expression of his; it also occurred to Liana that she was not getting the easy way out.

"Slavery," she hissed bitterly. "you really think you're better than us when you kill and enslave?"

~It is what your kind deserves. And you will not speak unless directed to, human.~ he raised a paw and waved it nonchalantly. Liana suddenly found her hands and feet bound with an invisible force that didn't want to break.

He can't do this, he can't! Her inner voice was panicky; taking away someone's freedom was like sticking a bird in a small cage. She hated the feeling of the hold this 'human hunter' had over her now. In death he could do nothing to her but in enslavement she felt more dread.

Mewtwo had heard her thoughts and grinned to himself, ~I can take freedom and I just have, now cease your infernal whining.~ With that said, he raised his paw once more and the boat they were sat in slowly made its way further out to sea.

Liana watched the mainland grow more and more distant with a helpless expression on her face, and as she turned to glare at the back of her captors head she made herself her own vow. She'd get herself out of this or die trying.

Liana sat in her 'slave ship' not even glancing towards Mewtwo. She had decided that if she acknowledged him or made a fuss about her capture he would be winning and she'd be damned before she let that happen. Instead Liana looked miserably back towards the mainland even though it was no longer in view. As the sky darkened into beautiful velvet blue pinned with stars she realised how stupid it must look as she was staring at nothing, but she refused to turn away. She decided that the village must know she was gone by now. Lucinda, Rhys, her uncle and a few others would be frantic, the others wouldn't care though. Fool of a girl. They'd say to one another, Leaving the protection of the village. Well it's one less mouth to feed I suppose.

I was foolish, she thought furiously at herself. Idiot, idiot, idiot, you shouldn't have gone outside for so long! She turned round quickly just to see a pair of glowing cat-eyes staring at her and she decided that Mewtwo must be finding her suffering and thoughts very amusing. The bastard!

Time passed, Liana wasn't sure how much as incredibly enough her eyes had grown tired from staring north, and she'd fallen asleep. However when she cracked an eye open the first tendrils of pink and yellow were seeping into the admittedly lighter, but still star studded sky.

Liana felt the boat rock beneath her as she sat up and tried to stretch the soreness out of her limbs from sleeping awkwardly on the hard wood. She realised that sadly enough, yesterday hadn't been a bad dream.

Keeping her angry gaze averted from Mewtwo, she looked beyond him and felt her mouth hang open in slight surprise. They were headed for a small island, a small island with a big and imposing castle upon it. This came as a surprise as for four years Liana hadn't seen a building bigger than the village hall (a ramshackle, wood and brick affair that was big enough for a few filing cabinets, a small wooden stage and seating for around fifty people).

As the boat sailed up to the small wooden dock, Mewtwo took the binds off Liana's feet and hands to lead her ashore. However that split second was enough for the young woman to jump up and make a dash onto the island. Her 'plan' was a simple one: Run for it, hide somewhere and keep her mind blank so that Mewtwo couldn't hear her thoughts, then take bird shape and try and keep it long enough to get to the mainland. Hope surged through the girl as she slipped and slid along the perilously wet decking towards the rocky shore. She darted left as she reached the end of the pier and was about to make for a small rocky outcrop when something stopped her. A large blue and cream form was in her way, head bowed ready to charge. A Nidoqueen!

Liana gave a frightened cry and skidded to a halt, then changed direction quick as a flash only to nearly step onto a sparking, angry looking Pikachu. She darted away again like a startled rabbit and came across a furious Scyther sharpening his arm blades on one another, glaring at her as he did. Liana turned a full circle, her hope fading and panic rising again. This was no accident; she was penned in by a lot of hostile looking creatures. She looked wildly from one place to another before her eyes rested on the figure of her captor walking with careful steps towards her.

"You!" she snarled and launched herself at him, only to be stopped by a Rhyhorn blocking her way. He was trying to get my hopes up, the bastard, he just thrives on misery! She thought helplessly. She whirled around to look at the other creatures blocking her escape route, some seemed less friendly than others, she noted bitterly.

Mewtwo smiled none to pleasantly before speaking to her, seemingly ignoring her attempt to attack him. ~Welcome to New Island, Liana Valaisu.~
