could all kind of red fonts be disabled? i get headaches if i read red font and even seeing it gives me blind spots and nausea. i don't think it's pleasant to read to non-epileptics either. please?

Poor Cool. The redness does hurt sometimes. I can recall some painful moments >.>;; And I never liked red that much so I wouldn't care if it gets disabled. ^_^

I don't think there are any red fonts outside of Eve's profile. You'll have to take that up with her, I can't disable it.

oh and mebbe you can put it to some board rules or something that it's banned. if we don't have board rules, mebbe we should make them?

I'll offer a parser to detone the warm-hued fonts but the red font will still be there for all who it doesn't bother.

Yes I have mentioned it before. However a few members find it amusing or simply forget and continue to use a red font whilst Cool's around despite the risks and warnings I've given.

W3C AAA-Compliance specification doesn't include conformation to non-warm aspects. In a real, WebDR says it can be avoided by simply changing the overall hue of the monitor. Use the mode options on the front of the monitor or use a third party tool to tint everything slightly blue, thus avoiding the problem forever.

By doing that you'll avoid it everywhere and not just here.

so you can look at red in movies and games but not here? i dont see how that works. my friend has the same thing except with green and she cant look at it at all on her monitor. has to pull the bluing all the way up.

Alright, I'll say this. I will NOT disable red fonts nor punish any member of the forum for using them. Why? I CAN'T disable red fonts first off and second off, I'm not going to ban people for petty little infractions. Ai has a red profile. ONE. Mewtwomew is RARELY on.

Why don't you substitute another colour for red in the CSS parser of your browser of choise. FireFox is open source and disabling red fonts on your computer only would be so very easy.

as i've said many times, IT'S NOT THE COLOR RED!! it's certain background/font color combinations. especially small bright color details(such as text) on certain background colors. and red/greyscale happens to be one of those combinations.

and for rei, i can't change certain color combinations on browsers. why does everyone think it's the red color, ugh. -_-;;;; i've told that often enough

You can very well download the source for Firefox and change it. CSS, which is the really the only way to change colours on the web, is a client side function. Each browser has its own built in parser. Changing it would be a simple as downloading the source, replacing the hexidecimals of vibrant colours to more neutral ones, then compiling and you're done.

Nope. CSS is applied to text only. Pictures and your entire computer would remain exactly the same. Just text on websites only would change

ok....first you wake up with a panicky feeling and the room is circling. then your eyes start to turn left with the room. when eyes can't turn left anymore cus the muscles hurt, your head starts to turn left. once your head starts to turn, you lose control of your limbs.(and fall down if you're standing or sitting) After your head reaches the limit of turning it hurts like hell, before you pass out from the pain. after that, comes the full-body muscle spasms and gasping for breath. (luckily you're not conscious at that point anymore) after the seizure is over, you wake up with a MASSIVE headache and feel out of place, like throwing up and weak. then you have to sleep 24 hours to settle down your brain activity.

And I'm telling you how to solve the problem. I'm not going to do it for you but its an EASY mod to do. If I can change a game designed for First person shooting into a turn based RPG while maintaining graphic flow, you can surly play with a CSS parser

Well you can convince people here, but what about other sites? Websites, particularly big ones, won't disallow red fonts just because you want them too.

I have never met someone who is racist against a color. Do tell, do you come from a Blue state? Or do all combinations of off-setting fonts annoy? Like Yellow on Black? Perhaps Pink on Aqua? There is always the dreaded gray on white. Its not that your request is silly, just impratical. Its hard to ban a color without them screaming for civil liberties.

no, i'm not ANY kind of racist, i suffer from epilepsy(neuropsychological illness) that makes my eyes oversensitive to flashing lights and certain font/bg colour combinations.(well, any light actually, i have a doctor's permit to wear shades anywhere i want because of it) red happens to be a font that doesn't fit with any bg color without making my eyes hurt like a bitch. i could have a seizure if i see red font too much, it's happened before. i can't even use a 60Hz monitor without feeling sick after 5 seconds. if i use those for 15 minutes, i'll get a seizure. unfortunately i had to use one of those at school for programming....after that the school had to get a flatscreen for me <<;

so, is that a good enough reason? it's not just for me, there's a lot of people with the same condition that i suffer from, i'm not being selfish. I just don't want to get a seizure, it's horrible.

I'm sorry, Cool. I didn't realize PINK hurts your eyes (that's right, my signature is PINK, not red). I can make it purple. However it will be harder for me to read, since purple on a bluish-gray background is hard for me to see.
