~Chapter 2 The Temple~
"Uh-oh..", I uttered. There were four Mightyena now, and I was cornered. They all let fierce growls out as they began to move in toward their target...me. They all charged at me at once, fangs bared, and I flew over the nearest one and fled.
But there was no way of escaping them, especially in this huge forest. I kept on heading in the same direction for what seemed like a few minutes, until one of the Mightyena latched it's mouth onto my tail. I cried out as a jolt of pain went right through me. It growled and threw me into the trunk of a tree.
I opened my eyes and and saw nothing but a blur, until I shook my head and the Mightyena were already running at me. I thrusted both my little paws out as to defend myself and suddenly, stars shot out of my paws and struck the Mightyena, causing it to whimper. I took this moment to begin running again.
I weaved through the trees and noticed the Mightyena I hit began chasing me again. I looked foreward again and noticed two trees that were together closely. I had gotten an idea. I made a beeline inbetween the trees and flew right through, while the Mightyena jumped through, getting stuck. I stopped and looked back at it. It growled and barked and tried to swipe at me. I giggled at it and turned to continue on, when a claw slashed at my cheek. I cried out and flew back right into the trapped Mightyena, which slashed at my back, too. I dropped to the ground, bleeding from my two wounds, and the bite on my tail began to ache.
I was trapped again by the Mightyena. I tried to get up, but the pain made me stay down. They all opened their mouthes and black orbs appeared. They were going to make sure I wouldn't escape again. I didn't want to die, I didn't even know what dying was!
"I want to live!" I shouted in my mind.
I suddenly pulsated. I felt something inside myself grow. Something was happening, like that something was triggered. I felt energy radiate from my body and they focused into multiple black orbs, just like the Mightyena.
They were surprised, but none of them flinched. They all released there Shadow Balls and they flew at me, energy radiating from them. I began to pulsate even more. The black orbs around me began to form one huge one. The power felt immense and I didn't think I could control it...so I did the only thing I could...I released the energy.
The black orb began to shrink as it let go lightning-fast bolts of dark energy in all directions. The Mightyena were thrown back from the sudden attack. The trees were cut down and were ablaze as the orb disappeared. I was surrounded by a ring of fire.
"Ugh....huh? W-why does this seem so familiar?" I asked myself as I stared at the flames. I shook my head.
"Nevermind...must leave," I said as I left the scene. I wasn't sure where to go now. I wandered through the forest again, trying to find a way out. Like I said, the forest was huge and vast, and it looked like I was going around in circles.
I suddenly stopped.
"Wait a minute...the Mightyena I attacked...there were...only..." I trailed off as I finished the sentence, "...three." I felt a welling feeling of fear inside myself and began to run again. I was still being hunted down.
I was starting to get really tired of running from the Mightyena, so I decided to fly above the trees. I raced up from a tree nearby, accidently cutting myself a few times, and finally making it to the top.
It was so beautiful, being above everything else. The trees were still so large as it spread as far as the eye could see. I noticed something that stood out in the forest. There was a large tower. Somewhere in the middle of the forest, was where it stood.
I was curious as to what was there, so I flew over to it. As I came closer, I saw that the tower was surrouned by walls, a vast temple yard, a gate, and...it seemed deserted. I descended to the ground cautiously, making sure that I was safe. But, I knew that no place was safe for me. But, I still went on anyway.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a Mightyena jumped at me and tried to slash me. I, somehow, was able to dodge and immediately headed for the temple. The Mightyena gave chase, and was intent on taking me to it's master.
I flew right through the gates and fell into some bushes. The Mightyena jumped in, bit into my back and threw me into one of the walls. I slammed right into it and slumped into the ground. I couldn't move; the pain from my wounds began to ache. And here comes the Mightyena, cornering it's prey. I looked up at it, struggling to keep my head up, but the result seemed inevitable.
But as luck would have it, I would live, for there was a soft voice in the air, singing. It seemed to have made the Mightyena calm down and it had become drowsy. At this moment a figure with a long sword had headed in and attacked the Dark pokemon.
It yelped and tried to make a run for it, but the person attacked again; and this time, it didn't move. It was dead. At the time, my vision was a little blurred, so I couldn't really make out who it was; but I wouldn't've known anyway because I felt too tired to even try to see who it was.
"Oh, Jax, check if he's okay!" said a female voice. The one who's name was Jax walked over to me. I was now breathing very slow and wasn't ready for anything else to happen.
Jax kneeled down next to me and inspected my wounds. A girl came up to me too, but she wasn't really human, I wasn't really sure what they were; the girl and the boy.. She looked at me, then at the body of the Mightyena, and back at me.
"What happened to you?" she asked. I couldn't respond. I was still a little frightened and...kind of shocked. I looked down at the ground and saw a puddle of red. I cringed at it and realized that it was my own blood. Now this, really had frightened me.
"What's wrong? Why were those Mightyena chasing you?" asked Jax. He waited for a respond, but none came.
"Hey, Kiera. Do you think you can talk to him? He won't answer me." The girl, Kiera, nodded and looked at me.
"Okay, can you talk? We need to know who you are, why those Mightyena were chasing you, and how you found the Temple. The Master wants to know," she said to me. There were too many questions, and there wasn't much I knew, about any of this. The last thing I know, was that I felt extremely tired and my vision was failing. I had collapsed.
