View Full Version : Thank you America

\Begin heavy rambling/

On behalf of the economy here in Harrisonburg, I'd just like to say thank you America. Thank you for taking the loosers way out and suing Merck because of the whole heart medication thing. Their cutting over 7,000 jobs. You've just made hell for 7,000 people who work their asses off(probably as a second or third job) just so you can be lazy and live off of your settlement for the rest of your life.

Really I'm serious thank you! Everyone knows that your 1000-times more likely to be killed by a doctor giving you medication then being killed by a gun of any type.

Oh it doesn't matter that all heart medications have rat poison in it, you still take it. You just can't deal with the fact that you may have to lift a finger and, uh I don't know, get you ass away from the TV and exercise. Diets are to hard for you, no you want the easy way out. You want to pop a pill.

Now we have two more very important companies in the area that are holding our economy steady but realize fully that you just screwed over 7,000 hard working individuals because of your senselessness.

Thank you all....

\End heavy rambling/

Merck created a very helpful heart medication. Problem was, it was toxic. It killed quite a few people(including my grandmother). Everyone is suing Merck

see thats the type of stuff that makes me sick.

i hate it when people go off and sue the drug companies cause they screwed up once. its a hinderance to what they could do. so now they are paying billions that they could be using to research other things. like cancer, AIDS, altheimezers, the usual. plus it makes the companies raise prices, and that makes insurace go up. my copay for instance used to be three dollars a bottle of whatever. well now its 30. thats like a 1000% increase.

i mean look at all the good drugs out there. no one is perfect. as i see it they have a pretty good record.

if you want to be picky sue the frigging FDA (i think its them) for oking the drug in the first place.

If people actually took the time to read the little ingrediants label on the back of their pill bottles they'd probably find a hundred and one things that are technically bad for them. But hey, they're still gonna take it, 'cause it's the modern way. I'll be the first to admit I'd rather use paracetamol than I dunno lavender? 'Cause it's fast acting and nowadays people want a simple, quick solution to problems. Throw money at it or take a pill and their happy. Now if they found something to be concerned about in the medication, why not try something more natural? I know in some cases it's not an option, but for those whose first priority is to rush to the pharmacy, well they should probably expect some adverse effects y'know. In closing if they're gonna try a drug without really finding out what the hell went into it then in no way in hell should they be able to make 7000 people lose their jobs over it. It doesn't take much for someone to ask their doctor/pharmacist what exactly goes in their meds now does it? I'm done ^_^

No we're all sick. Everyone wants a friggin pill nowadays instead of keeping themselves healthy! They're to damn lazy to take responsibility for themselves so its automatically someone else's fault.

They're not punishing the companies. Merck is just going to fire 7,000 factory workers NOT executives or researchers. 7,000 minimum wage, 3rd job kind of people who need that money.

Get off the fucking pill!!!

I take suppliments to support my body in addition to working out and eating healthy. These suppliments are the 10 essential sugars your body needs in order to communicate with itself right. Your body is an amazing device. If it functions properly(and there have been cases of people taking the suppliment doing this) it can fight off cancer, AIDS, autoimmune diseases, and all sorts of horrible things.

Some of the best and brightest biochemists work for this corporation. See for yourself at

http://www.mannatech.com/default.asp

Wanna know how safe it is? The FDA doesn't approve it. Why? They classify it as a "food". Its food people. That's ALL that's in it.

My mother tried to get me on these vitamin pills. They have like every Vitamin and mineral. I refuse to take it. I've always had an uncomfortable feeling with pills.

Why blame canada?

mewrei
December 11th, 2005, 01:18 pm
Look on the back of the pill jar. If it says "Take with a meal or food" then it is NOT real vitamins. Real vitamins can be taken on their own without anything else.

no problem with blood after all you need it to live.

Aside from that off topic bit
People now of days will sue anything just because its a f****** trend. Look at California for instance they'll sue each other just because someones dog pissed on their lawn.

I don't take pills unless its vital to my health, heck I use to take some vitamin pills in the past but that was when my bones had grown very weak thanks to my diabetes.
I also take Insulin but I have no choice in that matter without the stuff I die.

This may not be true but from my standpoint people in michigan are the biggest bunch of fucking pillpoppers ever. All i ever hear about on the 5 o clock news is about some new pill that will save your life or some bullshit like that.

I take iron suppliments due to anaemia (low blood iron in case somebody doesn't know) anaemia causes me to get all dizzy and stuff, not fun. I would just eat more iron rich foods but that normally means meats, and I'm not a big eater of meat.

I recently went on Vacation to visit friends and family in this little horrible glorified sandbar called Delaware. I hate Delaware. Even when I lived there, I was surounded by the bottom-rung red-neck group of honest hard working people commonly known as the CONSUMER. I hate being labled a CONSUMER, makes me feel like a big mouth, just going around and chewing up everything in sight, never satisfied. When I went back, every one was sick. Everyone was under exercised, and there was not one family who didn't have someone in it that had cancer. Right up next to the spices in the kitchen were those familar little tan colored bottles with names on them I never cared to learn. everyone I visited had this deep chest cough thing, and they were always taking some kind of remedy for them, whether doctor-prescribed or just grabbed off the shelf. They honestly belived that these little multi-colored caplets were going to save them. I know how to get rid the common cold, and so does your body, it knows more than your conciousness on how to keep yourself moving. When you take medication like that, you're basically turning off your bodys normal response to handling the problem, making the problem last longer. That gives the germ more time to mutate in your nervous system. If people want to argue that evolution is just a theory and cannot be tested in our life time, they have never gotten sick with some bug that laid them up for two months that had the same name as the bug they caught last year.

But I digress. In response to Merck laying off 7000 workers, it is indeed a tradgedy. However I know Merck itself would never think to do something to soften the blow. What the hell are it's leaders making? One hundred thou, two hundred thou a year? Would it seriously put some of those executives on the streets, to take a pay-cut for a few months, possibly a year in order to save the skills and loyalty of a few more employees? That would at least save a few souls, or perhaps to give up one bonus they get at every quarter to help save a few more? There are ways of dealing with such a problem. The biggest problem here being that no one cares anymore. There is no sence of honor, no sence of unity, just survival of the fittest. If you want a company to work as a whole, you must treat it as a whole. Everyone from the top to the bottom must be passionate about what they do. The moment someone calls it a "job" you're screwed. If you don't pull together, you won't survive. This goes for everyone, from the people on the bottom cleaning toilets, to the guy in a high-rise office. Quit being such a little shit about greed and worry about the greater good which will far outlast your bank account.

I went to see a scary movie over the weekend, it was called "Syriana". Its about greed. The good guy dies, and the world is fucked. Its a scary concept in and of itself, but what terrified me is its happening as we speak. The begining is a little boring, granted the most action happens in the last 20 min. Buts its the fact that we can see the train coming, we heard it long before at the start of the movie, and no one, no one has the ability to stop it.

Dear god this is long....

=Ck=

i know that you're dieing, and i know i'm unwell, yet together we shashe through variations of hell.

Unfortunately it is human nature to look out for ones self, not all us do however. There was this one example here in england can't remember where exactly or when but it did happen. An owner of a microwavable meal company had his entire factory burnt to the ground one night, now most owners would of sacked all the employees and restarted but this guy told all his employees to take a few weeks paid holiday and he would get back to them. He then went off used what little money he had remaining and bought anew factory with all the needed equipment. One week later he brought back all his employees and restarted work, he even gave them a raise a week or so later. Now in my eyes thats the kinda guy we need more of running businesses. It also proves to me that not all human life looks out for numero uno.

Shit, they make one hell of alot more then that. CK, pharmecudicals is one of the biggest industries in America today. Everyone wants a job for a pharmecudical corporation. Their top CEO probably makes in the 9-10 figure salary range per year. Merck itself is definitely a 12 figure gross per year.

They know what they make, and they WON'T stop. Your only going to hurt the littler man by suing them. They won't cut jobs from high up, its just how big business works.

Remember the Enron fiasco?

Greed is the basis of capitolism and lazzies-faire economics. You only do anything to make money. How much determines how greedy you really are.

Sorry CK, its going to work like that. Its the sad truth of life just like the skinning of minks and tigers for people's coats(we have a strict rule no fur in my household). You can do all as you want personally, but its not going to make much of a difference globally.

mewrei

Nope but you can't fight it either. I won't buy fur but there's no way in hell you can stop the next person from doing it. Plus they're well within their rights to own that fur(provided its not an endangered species). I absolutely refuse to impeach upon other's rights.

CK, you wanted to know why I believe one person is absolutely helpless? Read my post at http://remintellegere.deviantart.com/journal/7394020/

One person is very helpless in the big scheme of life. Movies are just movies, fairy tales are just fairy tales. Life will always by itself but in its own way to each person.
