Bring in what you know and share things that are related to mewtwo Biology, please note gender discussion is allowed to a point just please be light, this is a PG 13 topic, but don't go over board.

The reason for this topic is that there hasn't been any good topics that give info about Mewtwo, oh and try to let Fantasy play a good role but say it as if it's something real, it makes for a more interesting topic.

^-^

Humm hope this was what you were looking for:

I'll start then shall I? Well biologically speaking I'm gonna go for the age old DNA and genetics part of the discussion. Mewtwo, I doubt, is a 'true' clone. A clone made from purely the DNA of Mew simply because he's been modified and looks different. A true clone would resemble their original perfectly or near perfectly, Mewtwo doesn't.

In my theory I believe that Mewtwo's DNA is a combination of several beings. There is obviously Mew but I believe there may also be Alakazam and human DNA in his genetic make up. If any of you have ever read Jurassic Park (the novel is a lot better and more detailed than the movie), then you'll know at least fictionally speaking it's nearly impossible to get a complete DNA strand from a fossil due to the destruction of the tissue during the calcification process. As such there'd be little to work from in that Mew fossil they found.

In the novel they used other DNA to bridge the gene sequences. With Mewtwo I believe for this they'd use human DNA because human DNA is apparently closely linked to several other species and would be highly adaptable. Perhaps also there is a vanity side to it: I believe the scientists would want some human DNA in their creation so they could adapt and humanise the creature they created. Once Giovanni heard of this I bet he couldn't wait to get in on the act. I reckon any human DNA supplied for Mewtwo was donated by Giovanni who probably wanted a Pokemon modelled off him, and have an 'heir' of sorts to help rule the world. Effectively this would make Giovanni Mewtwo's father or at the very least, brother. This theory is somewhat backed up by Mewtwo's more humanesque appearance and also that his eye shape is very similar to Giovanni's. You don't see many characters in Pokemon who have such prominant eyebrows/eye ridges and that shape of eye combined.

The Alakazam DNA was used, I theorise, for Mewtwo's extensive psychic prowess and IQ. The scientists and Giovanni wanted to enhance Mew, so what better way than to make him smarter and with a wider range of psychic attacks? Thinking about it Mewtwo can 'talk' telepathically, Mew and other psychic Pokemon don't seem to show this ability which leads me to believe that Mewtwo may be smarter and more human than is the norm. Back to Alakazam. Alakazam are argued to be the most powerful psychics of the Pokemon world and are incredibly intelligent (didn't it say somewhere that their average IQ was 1000?) Mewtwo seems to grasp scientific knowledge, philosophy, religion, and social issues very quickly, as such he probably has a very high IQ as well. Hence the Alakazam theory.

Gender wise I'll go to both Mew and Mewtwo. The age old debate is that since Mewtwo is almost undeniably male (at least in the anime), then the Mew he fights must be male too. Not necessarily true. Think about it. The Mew that Mewtwo was cloned from was a FOSSIL, meaning whatever Mew made that fossil has to be dead. A Mew just wouldn't just sit around waiting for their eyebrow to be imprinted as a fossil unless they were immortal and deranged. With this in mind then the debate still stands. The Mew that Mewtwo battled can be either male or female because she (I believe Mew's female anyway) is not the exact one that Mewtwo was cloned from in my opinion.

And that's my two cents on that. Next? =P
