I spend quite a bit of time on /v/ in 4chan, a bit too much maybe. I've seen just about all the discussions on Brawl. Now, while it is bad news that Mewtwo was not included in the playable roster, there may be hope yet.

Eager folks have dissected the .iso of the game to view the file structure of the game itself. This was done to unveil the final roster days before the Japanese players confirmed the final roster count at 35. Looking into these files revealed interesting things. First of all, the file directory for playable characters counts only 35, which is already well-known. However, the file directory for game engine characters, that is characters that function in battle at all, has a count of about 47. All 35 playable characters are found here, and their filesizes correspond. However, some other entries include Gigabowser, Nana, and Andross. Their filesizes in this directory is 128KB, compared to a hefty 20+MB for Ike. Among this list is, much to everyone's surprise, is Mewtwo. There are other directories that correspond in giving such unplayable characters "breathing room."

In other words, Mewtwo may not be playable now, but a great deal of his game data is left in that, should certain files be added, makes him a playable character. I'm crossing my fingers that there will be an update where the necessary files are downloaded. At the very least, an Action Replay can force it to happen. There is still huge debate on whether Nintendo will allow downloadable content for Brawl. It's very feasible since Nintendo has done very unprecedented things with Brawl. The delay was done because of mass production and server reinforcement, the latter of which implies the preparation of downloadable content.

Most of Mewtwo's data was replaced for Lucario, i'm disappoint in Nintendo dising Mewtwo as they have... so I don't have much interest in Brawl cause of this... ;-\\

Tactics for Lucario seem to be the same as well, but i'm sure that thay changed one or two moves compaired to Mewtwo... to to me he is nothing more then a masking char for Mewtwo... other then Lu runs and Mewtwo floats... meh.... -.\\

Actually, I am very pissed off that Mewtwo's omitted from Brawl. I am pissed off that Nintendo would actually REMOVE characters in the first place! But yes, the WORST removal of a character is Mewtwo. Replacing him with Lucario!? Bullshit. Replacing a legendary with an overrated character. (Bad enough that I HATE Lucario from the beginning.)

*sigh* Mewtwo, Pichu, and Roy. Any other characters that I forgot to mention that are omitted? I just have a picture in mind for making, involving three words. Those three words are: You fucked up.

So, without further ado, if anyone gets Brawl and fights against a player with Lucario (internet and/or friends), burn them all to Hell.

I don't have anything against Lucario, quite like him as a character. However I don't like that he replaced Mewtwo. I probably won't bother getting that game, they definitely should have kept Mewtwo as a character.

Sakurai announced that he found the Wii unable to accept and preserve downloaded content. This means Mewtwo can't be added in. Note Sakurai said he couldn't do something, as opposed to not wanting to do something. Blame Nintendo, not Sakurai.

It's a little disturbing Mewtwo is not even an assist trophy. If he isn't even in a pokeball, well, someone up there has it in for Mewtwo.

Watching this kind of made my heart some what happy to see other pissed Mewtwo fans out there, that it did.

on another note... Cause Ness is still in Brawl... i've been thinking that I should.... meh... get the game... or maybe wait, cause if the fan base gets enough complaints maybe Nintendo with be forced to Add Mewtwo before it makes it state side... or remove an unneeded character for Mewtwo.... again i'm still hoping here... something has got to give... ;-;

Still... the Earthbound... er... Mother Fight look promissing, that it does... Ness is still meh #2 favorite Character of all time, glad he wasn't discarded.... but Lucario mask over on Mewtwo was a shameful thing to do, that it was... and I know that NoJ may be getting a lot of bad feed back cause of this... I just hope they decide to do something to make us the fans happy... so badly wanted to see how sexy Myutsuu looked in these sexy graphics ;o;

Whats odd abotu this info... is that two of those I know are boss as on of them is Bowser Special... would it mean that Mewtwo is a Hidden Boss... I would like the Idea of that one bit, that i wouldn't.... but why is his data stilll in the game, that I wonder, if he is not turely in the game... I mean this kind of makes me thing of the garbage Data that was found in Mother 3, of what may of been the final boss battle of the game... though I 'm not sure abotut that... usually games are not that badly orenated to have so much unused date...

Hm...odd. I enjoy playing Lucario more than I did Mewtwo. He's much faster and stronger and with the addition of the counter-attack, he proves to be superior in almost every way. Heh...at least they made him more useful.

I tried to watch the Mewtwo rant videos that you linked and appeantly that the videos are no longer there. Damn. Missed my opportunity I guess.

On an off-topic note, in my honest opinion, that SSBB is not a perfect game at all. These idiots should add a few more characters. Also, Mewtwo, as a trophy only? Jeezus, that's stupid!!

Well, from what I'm seeing...Nintendo is considering Mewtwo a dead character anyways. He never appears in anime anymore...and his exclusion from Brawl seem to hint at that. He only lives through fan-work on the internet and such. Of course I was hurt when he wasn't in Brawl, but I've gotten over it. Brawl is a great game, much better than its predecessor. You'll miss out on a lot of fun if you ignore it because Mewtwo's not in it...

...and Lucario is awesome. =P

Overall I like the game. Disappointed that they slowed down the game. Melee was faster, especially when you're playing a wave dashing Fox.

I never played as Mewtwo, nor fought anyone who could be me with him.

Eeww...I'm glad they took out wave dashing...It wasn't a technique more than it was a glitch...and it doesn't feel slowed down to me. They probably made some characters slower runners to balance them out, but it always feels like a high-speed fight when fighting my friends. I'm disappointed however that they didn't nerf Fox enough. =P He is still an incredible powerhouse. At least they changed it so that you couldn't spam his smash attacks without them getting weaker and weaker as the battle progresses though they are still very good.

There's no way Melee could beat Brawl...you have to give me that.

meh yeah, mewtwo still shows up in some of the intros in the japanese version of Pokemon only now on rare occations

and Lucario is well.... not just awesome..... he is kind of sexy too :3
