How do you put an icon by your name?

I'm new to this site, and I don't know how to put an icon by my name. I know there's a method to it, but I haven't figured it out yet. When it comes to HTML, I'm a dunce, or somewhere close to there. ?(

Yes, I'm new to this board. Everything here is different from the other board of the same name. In it, I could put a pic beside my name. Here, I can't find one that fits the specifications. It's so frustrating. I tried uploading an image from photobucket like I've done before, but it won't upload. What am I doing wrong?

That image is WAY to big to be an avatar. Sorry. I think the maximum is 200x200 pixels. You can use Adobe Photoshop to crop it down to that or ask nicely and I'll do it.

I know it's way too big. I tried to crop it down to 100 X 100 pixels in Paint, but it came out wrong. Thankfully I didn't save the change, since I want to keep the picture as is. Btw, that's Vee's drawing of my character. Anyway, I'm not familiar with Adobe Photoshop, although I do have Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.

Adobe Photoshop is a VERY powerful image modification suite. It costs around $600 US but is worth every single penny.

If you look in the art section of this board, look for the post entitled "A Few Digitals" by me and those are some things I did in Photoshop. I had the help of 3ds max sometimes though.

I'm a Photoshop junkie as well, and I agree, it's worth the investment.

Well, I got the cute little Mew icon from another Mewtwo site, and I thought it would look cute by my name. It seems to fit the specifications, and it goes along with part of my name.

If you consider how much work went into Photoshop, $600 is WAY underpriced. Same with Windows and MacOS. Windows 2000 had around 15 million lines of code(I can't remember the exact but hopefully CAD will come along a make sure thats right) and it was only about $400

However, even though you may think that $600 is underpriced, you have to realize that the higher price will turn away higher volumes. Higher volumes is where the money is. Companies get their money form selling massive bundles of copies to big corporations.

You can get the student version of photoshop for under $100(as I just found -_-). However liscence bundles like the academic edition offer installation on around 2000 comps for around $4000.

$2 per comp, not bad

I'm not. Parents....won't go there. I have to work for absolutely everything I want outside of Christmas and Birthdays. Its not that I'm given everything. I work my ass off for things I want.
